Along with the Ice Hotel and Utter Inn, here’s another wacky addition: the LÃ¥ngholmen Hotel – housed in the old Crown Prison, which was built in the early 19th century on an island in the middle of Stockholm.

No, this is not a hoax – at least we don’t think it is. The Utter Inn hotel is the brainchild of Mikael Genberg, a local artist and sculptor. It lies 3m below the surface of Lake Mälaren and contains only twin beds and a table. Yes, that’s right, you sleep underwater!

Each year a team of snowbuilders, architects, designers and artists from all corners of the world create the Ice hotel. In 2006, the Ice hotel consists of 80 rooms, of which they have 20 suites, 6 family rooms, 52 double rooms and 2 very special deluxe suites.
